Meet the artist behind the Discworld BookBench

Saturday the 23rd August, 2014

The Discworld series by Terry Pratchett is wildly popular, and the BookBench depicting The Librarian from the debut novel, The Colour of Magic, completes our Riverside Trail.

Fans of the work will have the chance to meet the artist who created our BookBench at a special event on Saturday 23 August.

Paul Kidby, the artist who has been designing Discworld book covers since 2002, turned his creative hand to make the fantastic BookBench.

In association with The Great British Bookshop who sponsor the BookBench, Kidby will be meeting and greeting fans of his work and signing books between 11am-3pm.

Furthermore, there will also be a wonderful giveaway on the day. Attendees have the chance to win exclusive artwork of the BookBench, and the bookshop will be giving away 100 FREE copies of the book at 11.30am and a further 100 at 1.30pm.

This event is an absolute must for fans of the Discworld series and a great chance to meet the talented artist who brought our BookBench to life!

The BookBench is located on the Riverside Trail, in a prominent spot on the Thames Riverbank overlooking HMS Belfast.

You could own this BookBench. On 7 October, all of our benches will be auctioned to raise money for our vital work. Click here to read more about the auction.
